A little bit about us
Knitwits and Crafty Stitchers is Galway’s largest yarn and fabric supply store. We specialise in all types of yarn from acrylics, wools, cottons to 100% Alpacas and carry a wide array of brands to suit all budgets. We also stock a large selection of 100% cotton craft fabrics along with some poly cottons, felt, fleece and flannels. Our bricks and mortar shop has been described as an Aladdin's cave for crafters. You will find lots of useful tools and gadgets for needle craft projects on our shelves.
We began to trade on line in June 2013 and the physical shop opened shortly after in August. The shop opens 6 days a week Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm. We also trade on line 24/7 but only ship within Ireland. We are based on the outskirts of Galway city which is easily accessible by car, bus or on foot – you’ll find a map and directions on the "Find us" page. Due to our location there is ample free parking.
We make every effort to showcase our range of products online, however as our stock is constantly changing you will always find much more in our Galway based shop. If there is something you’re looking for and can't find it online don’t be afraid to drop us an email or pick up the phone we’ll do our best to get you sorted. We aim to have an extensive selection of yarns, patterns, books, fabrics, cross stitch, tapestry, ribbons, buttons and accessories for all forms of needle craft. We cater for all ages and budgets. Many items can be ordered in specifically to meet a particular customer’s needs.
We have a beautiful classroom area that caters for up to 8 students at a time. This space is used by local crafters to run knitting, crochet and patchwork classes. Ask in store or give us a call for upcoming classes.
